At the beginning of the New Year, on the afternoon of 2nd January, the sun was shining brightly in the east campus of Anqing Foreign Language School. The Lecture Hall was packed with over 500 parents both from the east and the west campuses. They gathered here to attend the third session of the home-school forum of Anqing Foreign Language School.
The home-school seminar aimed at enhancing the connection between family and school, deepening the education from school, home& society, communicating with parents, sharing feelings& experiences in family education in addition to creating a better environment and atmosphere for students’ development. The theme of the lecture was ‘Peacefully Waiting for the Blooming Flowers--Brief Analysis on Home Education and Study Management for Children’. The keynote speaker was Anqing Foreign Language School’s Principal Assistant Ling Qian. Meanwhile, Vice Principal Liu Bing chaired the forum.
It is noteworthy that Principal Assistant Ling Qian was Anqing Foreign Language School’s senior math teacher, secondary instructor for National Olympic Mathematics who won the first prize in the 4th Session Superior-Quality Math Lesson Assessment in Middle Schools of Anhui Province. Other than that, Principal Assistant Ling guided students to win grade prizes in math competitions both in national and provincial levels on many occasions. Besides, Principal Assistant Ling has been in the teaching career for nearly 30 years. He was the front-line math teacher who cherished the teaching post and devoted wholeheartedly to work. His diligence in thinking and his teaching style were deeply affected by students, which made his teaching performance stand out.
To be specific, during the lecture, first of all, Principal Assistant Ling Qian analyzed the situation and universal problems faced by family education at present. Then, in combination with quality-oriented education in the new curriculum and his own practical experience in education& teaching over the years, Principal Assistant Ling exchanged with parents about the destination and entry point of family education with profundity and an easy-to-understand approach. He laid emphasis on how to scientifically& effectively communicate with students and implement study management for students.
More remarkably, Principal Assistant Ling’s lecture, rather than unsophisticated sermon, was in fact illumination on his perspectives and viewpoints by means of exchange with parents. Thus, it not only received guidance from theoretical height, but also was passed on from practical operation, which was close to reality, enlightening everyone.
In conclusion, on the one hand, all parents listened attentively. On the other hand, the sequence in the conference hall was harmonious and orderly. After the seminar, parents sought advice with regard to their concerned issues. Through this informative event, Anqing Foreign Language School bridged the home-school distance and further carried forward educational wisdom!
